About the Orchestra
The Neue Philharmonie Hamburg (NPH), founded in 2003 by violinist and producer Tigran Mikaelyan, has become one of the vibrant players in the cultural life of the city. The orchestra performs at Hamburg's major venues — the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle — where over the years it has built a devoted following. It is also regularly featured on Germany's most prestigious stages, including the Berlin Philharmonie, Leipzig Gewandhaus and Alte Oper Frankfurt. In addition, the orchestra actively tours worldwide — with appearances in France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, China, South Korea, Japan and many other countries.
This season's highlights feature conductor Vassily Sinaisky, soprano Olga Peretyatko, cellist Mischa Maisky, tenor Marcelo Álvarez, and the Grand Prix winner of the 2025 Classic Violin Olympus International Competition, Haik Kazazyan.
